Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator I, the Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs professional accounting duties of average difficulty in a wide variety of accounting, technical, and support service assignments in the establishment and maintenance of accounts and records in the Employer Assessment Unit. The incumbent is responsible for the establishment, recording, maintenance, reconciliation, and reporting of accounts receivable transactions within the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) accounting systems and the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal), in accordance with the Department’s policies and procedures.
