ACCOUNTING OFFICER (SPECIALIST) – ACCOUNTING SERVICES SECTION / CASHIERING UNIT / SACRAMENTO HQ

The reporting location for this position is at the Headquarters in Sacramento, CA.  This position will work under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator I.  

The Accounting Officer (Specialist) operates at the first journey level, performing professional accounting duties of average difficulty which require strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. This position establishes, maintains and reconciles records in the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) and State Controller’s Office (SCO). This requires an understanding of the entire accounting process, such as the establishment and maintenance of financial records; reconciliation process; research and analyzing data. Works to identify and correct errors.

Candidate must have excellent attendance, punctuality, dependability, and work habits. Required skills include but not limited to experience using Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook. This position requires successfully completed quality work assignments, meeting deadlines, and can be flexible and adaptable to frequent workload changes based on organizational priorities.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as telework eligible- office centered.
