About the Job:

Taco Bell is looking for a transactional attorney to join its Marketing, Media and Sourcing Team within the Legal Department. While this position will directly report to the Director, Legal, they will provide legal support to all the departments within the Taco Bell RSC.

The Day-to-Day:

• Preparing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts including but not limited to marketing and licensing agreements, IT agreements, master service and/or product agreements and statements of work
• Assessing advertising claim substantiation, preparing disclaimers and supporting sweepstakes, contests, activations and promotional offers
• Content review of marketing and advertising materials to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable legal requirements, including but not limited to copyrights, trademark, and rights of publicity and privacy;
• Management of collaborations, including but not limited to contract negotiation, securing IP rights, creating royalty structures
• Working closely with Taco Bell’s various business units, including Marketing, Operations, FIT, IT, etc., to understand the scope of their various projects and identify potential risks that will need to be addressed in order to support their contract needs.
• Providing legal guidance to achieve business objectives while minimizing legal risks and liability
• Effectively communicating and collaborating with clients and department peers. Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to listen and effectively explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers and concisely translate complicated issues into actionable recommendations and solutions.
• Ability to adapt to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and handle changing priorities successfully in a fast-paced environment. Self-start, work proactively and follow through

Is This You?

• Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years of IP and legal transactional experience; relevant in-house transactional experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Intellectual Property issues (trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, etc.) required
• Experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating contracts required
• Experience in restaurant or retail industries preferred
• Licensed member in good standing of a State Bar
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with all levels of the organization including management, peers, and customers
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
• Strong problem solving skills with an analytical and business savvy approach
• Must be a team player with the ability to adapt in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment

Salary Range: $134,000-155,000 annually + bonus eligibility + benefits
