• Champion Barrick's "Journey to Zero" Programs: Put safety first! You'll be responsible for empowering a safety culture by implementing programs like "Stop Unsafe Work" and "Fatal Risk Management."
• Cultivate a Proactive EHS Culture: Develop and deliver targeted training programs to equip our team with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent incidents. Facilitate safety shutdowns and lead toolbox talks to keep safety discussions top-of-mind.
• Navigate the Regulatory Landscape: Oversee environmental permitting and ensure compliance with ever-evolving regulations. Represent Homestake at hearings, legal actions, and permit development meetings. Foster positive relationships with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Lead Mine Closure Activities: Play a pivotal role in planning and coordinating the successful reclamation of mine sites.
• Empower Your Team: Develop and implement succession plans, fostering the continuous growth and expertise of your EHS team.
• Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analyze data from inspections, audits, and tests to identify trends and proactively address potential risks.

To thrive in this role, you'll be a skilled professional with a proven track record in the mining industry. Here's a breakdown of the key qualifications we seek:

• Technical Expertise: A Bachelor's of Science in Safety, Health and Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is a must.
• Experience Makes a Difference: We require a minimum of seven years of relevant experience, preferably within an operating or closed surface mining environment.
• Collaborative Spirit: The ability to build strong working relationships and foster a positive team environment is crucial.
• Leadership with Impact: You'll be a natural leader, influencing others and driving continuous improvement in EHS programs.
• Project Management Prowess: Juggling multiple projects while ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery is essential.
• Regulatory Rockstar: A deep understanding of local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations is a requirement. You'll navigate the regulatory landscape with ease, and may have prior experience interacting with agencies.

• Tech-Ready: Strong computer skills are essential, with experience in Barrick systems a plus.

• Safety Champion: Obtaining or possessing the following certifications demonstrates your commitment to safety: OSHA 501 Trainer card (minimum OSHA 30), 49 CFR DOT trained, 40 CFR RCRA trained, OSHA 40-hour certification, Advanced CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.
