LIFEGUARD

SEASONAL – SUMMER/FALL 2025

You will need to have the following certifications before being hired: First Aid/CPR, Lifeguarding Certifications, Waterfront Certification.

The Fairfield Beach Club in Fairfield, CT is looking for Lifeguards to join our team for the remainder of the club season! This is a seasonal position with the possibility for advancement.

Under supervision, Lifeguards ensure the safety of the membership and their guests at the club pool and on the club beach by preventing and responding to emergencies. This position will work at an Outdoor Pool/Beach Facility (one pool – main pool with a shallow, a deep end with a diving area and a baby pool area for wading) Applicant should be on time for all shifts, be diligent at the job and have the flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends.

INTERVIEWS START MARCH 15th. Information about scheduling an interview will be sent to all applicants 2 weeks before March 15th.

Responsibilities

• Maintains constant supervision of the membership and their guests in the pool and beach facilities
• Responds immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of members and their guests in the event of an emergency
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
• Always presents a professional appearance and attitude, and maintains a high standard of customer service
• Ability to use rescue surfboard and demonstrate the skills needed and asked of by management
• Can demonstrate the skills involved in being a lifeguard as taught by certifications (Not excluding additional skills and routines asked by management)
• Maintain cleanliness of workspace and surrounding areas
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Attending mandatory in-service training sessions once per month to maintain skills and stay up to date on safety protocols
• Responsible for attending all assigned shifts

Qualifications

• Prior lifeguarding experience preferred
• At least 16 years of age
• Be able to Carry/Move Objects up to 50 pounds
• First Aid Certification
• CPR Certification
• Waterfront Certification
• Lifeguarding Certification
• Skilled in the application of lifeguarding, surveillance, and rescue techniques
