THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the incumbent independently performs the more difficult accounting duties in maintaining records and managing cash flow for Unemployment Insurance (UI) and Disability Insurance (DI) benefits.  

This position requires the incumbent to have an in-depth knowledge of the State's accounting systems and a good working knowledge of professional accounting practices and procedures. The incumbent must have the ability to make analytical decisions and recommendations regarding accounting practices and principles. The incumbent must have the ability to multi-task, provide detail analyses, and provide analytical solutions. This includes actively participating in decision and policymaking, gathering data and preparing analysis on various problems.

The incumbent will analyze cash requisitions from both state and federal sources; and post journal entries. UI programs include regular benefits, extended benefits, Combined Wage Claims and Voluntary Federal Income Tax Withholding. This position will be responsible to have a working knowledge of several of the most critical functions within the Cash and Benefits Unit (CBU).

Note: This position requires excellent attendance; the work for this position must begin at 6:30am

This position requires on site attendance of 2-3 days per week.
