Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking Software Production Support Analyst to join our innovative software development team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will work across designated teams to ensure software applications are fully available to all stakeholders and USPS customers critical to the USPS mission. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional results through effective leadership and collaboration. 

Work Location: This position is 100% remote.

Hours: 4X10 hour days rotating, 7 days per week. The shift hours will start at 6PM.

Training: Selected candidate will train for 4 consecutive weeks 8AM-4:30PM.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working across designated teams to ensure applications are fully available to all stakeholders and USPS customers.
  • Assist development teams in deployments, routine patching and system application monitoring / troubleshooting.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex data file processing, help translate customer reporting requirements and create reports, and provide application testing and validations.
  • Lead incident response calls and contribute / create after action reports.
  • Training/mentoring less experienced personnel.
  • Develop/support software applications using Java and more than one of these software technologies: Active Server Pages (ASP), JavaScript, Oracle DBMS, SQL Server DBMS, Visual Basic, JavaScript, MS Access, HTML.
  • Collaborate with end users to define new Web-based software system requirements.
  • Author or contribute to software-related documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, technical manuals, and user manuals.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain complex Web-based software systems.
  • Ability to quickly respond to system alerting to reduce application downtime to customers.
  • Effectively work directly with stakeholders, executives, and technical staff.
  • Liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of terminology, usage, and operating characteristics of hardware, software, and operating system components.
  • Effectively lead Production Support Application Monitoring in real-time.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience or Associate’s degree and 7+ years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and  9+ years experience.  
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • U.S Citizenship or Green Card holder.
    • Residing in the U.S for the past five years with no more than 6 months travel outside the U.S. during this time frame.
    • Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members).
  • 4 years experience in Web-based design/development.
  • Working knowledge of SQL. Ability to understand and write complex SQL.
  • Experience using UNIX commands to manage production Linux servers.
  • Incident Management experience.
  • Experience using SQL query on Oracle Databases to perform Database lookups

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Agile methodologies, Version One, ServiceNow, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), logging tools such as Splunk Enterprise, monitoring tools such as Neustar and AppDynamics.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools such as GCP Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver) is a plus.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
