Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Ed/Needs tutor for a bright 3rd grader. On the Autism spectrum (moderate/severe) with focus, anxiety and sensory processing challenges. Needs a kind, caring, patient, and knowledgeable tutor. Language Arts and Math help. Tutoring to take place in the students home in Valencia. Weekday/daytime tutoring required. The student also receives additional ABA support/therapy and has a wonderful support system in place.
The ideal candidate is supportive and leads with empathy and compassion. Has a passion for special education/special needs students and the ability to provide weekly academic support to student to this student/family.

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one tutoring in the Student's home. No Online only tutors needed.
- Skilled tutoring using the student's own curriculum and real time assignments along with integrating other successful special ed learning methods. Not at grade level; a soft step by step tutoring approach and using lots of praise.
- Ability to simplify Reading/Writing/Comprehension, Math help along with helping to build better study habits, organizational and life skills for this student.
- Help to improve students academic performance and achieve their learning goals.
- Assist students with homework, test preparation, and understanding course materials.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum Bachelor's degree.
- Proficiency in Math, Language Arts/Reading/Comprehension and working with special needs students.
- Minimum 2 years special needs experience; special needs; teaching, tutoring, mentoring, a supportive team member approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain goals and concepts clearly.
- Simplify concepts and be adaptable for different learning styles.
- Basic technical skills for writing brief reports on student progress/session notes.
