Wine Procurement and Logistics Manager

Position Overview
1. The Wine Procurement and Logistics Manager is a critical role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain of wine products.
2. This person is a critical member of the Wine Team and reports to the Wine Team Captain.
3. This position ensures the seamless procurement, transportation, inventory management, and fulfillment of wine products to meet business needs.
4. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, inventory management, and procurement, from both domestic and international suppliers
5. This role directly supports operational efficiency by optimizing supply chain processes and ensuring accurate inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities
1. Wine Procurement
-Develop and maintain relationships with wineries, distributors, and suppliers.
-Place orders for wine products based on direction from the Wine Team.
-Create COLAs and co-ordinate import compliance and logistics when necessary.
2. Purchase Order Management
-Create detailed purchase orders (POs) for all wine products, ensuring accuracy in product descriptions, quantities, and pricing.
-Manage all appropriate software systems and requirements for all POs for tracking and auditing purposes.
3. Shipping Coordination
-Arrange transportation of wine products from suppliers to the fulfillment warehouse, ensuring compliance with temperature-sensitive shipping requirements.
-Track shipments to ensure timely delivery and address any delays or issues with carriers.
4. Fulfillment Oversight
-Conduct regular audits of the fulfillment partners performance to evaluate efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
-Gain a full understanding of the WSM and fulfillment processes of our fulfillment partner.
-Maintain open lines of communication with our fulfillment partner to insure smooth relations and prompt issue resolution.
5. SKU Creation and Inventory Management
-Create unique SKUs for each wine product to maintain an organized inventory system.
-Monitor inventory levels regularly.
-Co-ordinate periodic physical inventory counts with the fulfillment center to reconcile discrepancies. The fulfillment center is our source of truth regarding inventory counts.
6. Process Improvement
-Identify opportunities to streamline procurement, shipping, and inventory workflows.
-Implement best practices to enhance efficiency across all supply chain operations.
7. Compliance and Reporting
-Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to the storage and transportation of alcoholic beverages for both domestic and import product.
-Monitor compliance as done by the fulfillment center.
-Generate reports on inventory levels, shipment statuses, supplier performance, and fulfillment metrics for management review on a weekly basis.

Qualifications
•  (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field and 1 year of experience in performing these duties, or
•  3+ years of experience in procurement, logistics, or inventory management (experience in the wine or beverage industry preferred).
•  Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices.
•  Deep knowledge and high proficiency in the use and operation of the Shopify purchase order, inventory management and logistical systems.
Key Competencies
•  Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
•  Strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers, warehouses, carriers, and internal teams.
•  Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
